Hot winds keep the numbers down for 18-hole stableford.

By The Dirty Birdie
Just six brave Warren ladies took to the course last Wednesday, October 22, for the 18-hole stableford with the extremely hot, windy weather no doubt keeping a few sensible ones at home!
Those who did play, however, battled the elements bravely and did a great job to finish.
Coming in first with a terrific score of 40, points was Lorraine Faulkner-Smith, followed by Didi Simmons on 38, and Rob Downey in third on 37.
Nearest-to-the-Pin also went to Lorraine, who also won a golf ball, as did Didi and Rob.
An American Foursomes draw involving partners attracted five teams out on the course on Saturday, October 25. First place went to Debbie Kentwell and Wendy Robinson with a score of 69.8, followed by Tara Fitzgerald and Sue Burke on 71.2. In other results, Rob Downey won NTP in what was a fun and friendly day all-round!
Other events included the Wednesday, October 29, Medal of Medals; an 18-hole Stroke event and, on Saturday, the Ellerslie Lane Trophy Day and August Medal.
In upcoming events, next Saturday is the Bruce Soulsby Memorial Golf Day; a three-person Irish Stableford event for the ladies, mens, and mix teams.
Credit also to Rob and the course staff for keeping the playing surface in such great condition, especially with the tough weather. Your hard work is really appreciated!
