Gulargambone and Warren tie on the buzzer on Saturday, June 13, 2026.

The Warren Pumas were greeted on Saturday (June 13) afternoon at Gilgandra oval to to a spirited and well drilled Gulargambone team. Gular laid a very strong platform in the forwards that put pressure on warrens midfield, then good ball movement by gulars exciting young back line saw them gain plenty of metres of which warren’s scrambling defence was able to hold out on quite a few occasions however, repeat efforts from gulars back line eventually swooped on some weak defence to secure three tries in the first half.
Very similar to their first encounter at the start of the season, the gular side was faster, fitter, stronger, more connected than the warren side and they reaped the rewards early on leading 24–5 at the break.
Undoubtedly some spirited words came from Warren coach Harry Gaynor. Unfortunately for the Gular side, whether it be years of not being in the winning room, or a mere lack of experience being a very young side they were not able to close out the game from being in such a strong position. Gular seemingly turned off in the second half and Warren were able to claw back momentum and be down by a converted try 24-17 in the final few minutes.
A couple of favourable penalties and quick taps and warren were able to march down the field and score a executed try in the corner in the 80th minute bringing the scoreline to 22-24.
A courageous and physical 80 minutes of football from best on ground fly-half Haegan Size who is well known for kicking match winning conversions was suffering cramps and ankle tightness and was unable to take the conversion. Hooker Oliver Ferrari who had returned to the field to replace an injured propped stepped up to the kicking tee from the sideline to nail the conversion through the black dot to tie the game 24-24.
Some extremely good football came from Warren five eight haegan size who single handedly clawed the game back for Warren with some excellent running, creative kicking and some really key pilfers.
A massive game from Stu mclean who had massive work rate. Clancy lawler who came off the bench showed massive difference in the scrum. Good games from Tom Storer, Will Young and Richard Hansel. Ryan Ferguson from Gular played a terrific game. Warren show they have the smarts and ability to claw back and see out games however, lack of fitness and physicality let them down.
Gular need to work on being able to play a whole 80 minutes. This new injection of youth into the gular backline is very promising to see, if they can stay together in a few years they will be very strong.
