Tigers under 18s hold on for first win of season
The Nyngan Tigers made the long trek to Bathurst to take on St Pat’s at Jack Arrow Oval in front of a handy-sized crowd on Sunday, June 29.

We didn’t come away with much success, with the under 18s the only side to get the cash. The win was the first for the year for the Tigers juniors.
The boys bounced out of the barriers and had raced to what appeared to be (and eventually was) a 28-0 lead at half-time.
Unfortunately, the boys put their feet up after this, and near got their pants pulled down.
We fell in, and if it went another two minutes we were gone.
The final score of 28-26 was a fitting score in the end. It was definitely a tale of two halves.
Great effort from Hedgo and his boys - they have battled on all year.
The character they have shown to front up each week has been unreal.
Great reward boys for the effort.
League Tag
The girls took it to the ladder leading Pats team. After 20 minutes the game was still scoreless and, don’t worry, we had a heap of chances in that period.
We dropped our guard nearing halftime and allowed Pat’s to grab a couple of quick tries before the break to take a bit of the gas out of our girls.
The second session was much the same as the first, with very little between the sides. The only difference being Pat’s took their chances and we bombed a couple of ours. Great effort girls. Molly Smith was a standout - she made at least six clean line breaks - and looked dangerous each time she got the footy.
The final score 34-6 was by no way a true indication of the game.
Reserve Grade
The Reggies were brave but injuries seen us field a depleted side, with the U18s stepping up to sit on the bench for Evo.
We were in the game for 50 minutes but knocked up in the later stages to go down 26 -12.
The first grade clash saw the Tigers put in their worst performance of the year.
We never got hot and honestly never looked a fair dinkum chance, going down 48-20.
Pat’s out-played us in all areas.
Our performance was chalk and cheese compared to what we dished up the week before against Forbes. Jak Jeffery and Bermo tried hard as did new signing Nick Tilburg, but it was one of those days where very little went right for us.
We have the bye this week which will be a blessing in disguise. It will give time for a couple of players to recover from injury before we take on Parkes at Larkin Oval on July 13. This will be our First Nations round.
