Egg’s girls got off to a perfect start, recording their first win of the season with a heart-stopping 12–8 victory over the Parkes girls.

Our girls were great. They held Parkes out for the last five minutes to come away with a super win.

We didn’t have a bad player but Brie Taylor and Brodie Boyd were standouts for mine—these two girls charged into the Parkes side from the get-go.

Serenity Sheather and Ell Purtell were also impressive, as were Hollie Smith and Maddison Taylor.

Great effort girls. Well done.

The juniors put in their best effort so far. It was only a couple of silly errors that allowed Parkes to get away from them.

Jayden Dunn and his halves partner Brook Cadrakilagi were our best just in front of Richie Glover and Wade Dwyer in the forwards.

The reggies were solid again but just fell short when it mattered.

Fullback Cooper Ryan maintained his good form and was just about our best.

Ratu Manoa Satala was also busy.

The first grade fixture saw the Tigers in it up to their ears for the first 60 minutes, but we fell away in the final 20 to go down 42-18.

The final score wasn’t a true reflection of the game.

The Tigers again cruelled themselves with crucial errors, costing us dearly.

Twice we made mistakes from the kick off and Parkes scored in those sets.

If we can cut those mistakes, a win is not too far away.

Hooker Jak Jeffery was smart out of dummy half - he took our side forward and was one of our best.

Dane Casey shone on debut. He didn’t look one bit out of place, and that won’t be the last time he plays A grade. Well done Dano.

The front rowers were solid against the monster Parkes pack.

Billy Quarmby carted it up with no hint of self-preservation.

Bill is getting better with each outing and added some real punch coming off the bench.

Jackson Cox was also good, as was big Vinny Leuluai.

This weekend we travel to Orange to take on the Hawks on Sunday.

Final scores:

Nyngan v Parkes at Larkin Oval, Nyngan.

First grade – Nyngan 18 lost to Parkes 42

Reserve grade – Nyngan 20 lost to Parkes 56

Under-18s – Nyngan 16 lost to Parkes 34

League tag – Nyngan 12 defeated Parkes 8
