Tigers put in a gusty effort against Forbes
The Tigers travelled to Forbes to take on the high-flying top-of-the table Magpies on June 22.

We came away empty handed but it wasn’t due to lack of effort.
The first grade clash was a beauty. We had a couple of opportunities to come away with the cash but just couldn’t ice the critical moments. The final score was 30-26 in favour of the Magpies, but don’t worry we had them hanging on!
We jumped out of the blocks and skipped to a 10-nil lead early but just couldn’t keep our nose in front.
Big Vinny Leulaui was enormous once again. He is as good a front rower as we have seen in this group. Bermo and Rory Quarmby were also good. Captain-coach James Tuitahi was also impressive, as was new signing Jamil Hopoate. Jamil’s experience and class stood out for all to see and will only get better the more footy he gets under his belt.
The Reggies came up against a fairly handy Magpies outfit, and I think our boys may have been guilty of taking them a bit light.
We turned over too much ball to win a footy game, but I’m sure Evo will have them back on track for our trip to Bathurst on Sunday.
The girls will rue the one that got away. We looked the better side for the majority but missed too many opportunities and paid the price in the end going down 16-12.
This week we are off to Bathurst on Sunday to take on Saint Pats, who are currently in sixth place on the ladder.
