The Nyngan Tigers celebrated two of its most successful teams on Sunday, with members of the 1966 and the 2000 premiership winning sides invited back to Larkin Oval for Old Boys day.
All six remaining members of the 1966 side - Nugget Carter, John Leigh, Ray Taylor, Doug Smith, Frank Smith and Laddie Richardson - were in attendance for a the 60th anniversary of their historic win.
Joining the boys were Hazel Griffiths, Di Hughes and Lorraine Hawley whose late husbands were also in the side.
Nyngan Tigers life member Norma Jeffrey presented each of the players with a medallion to commemorate the historic occasion.
Meanwhile there were also many members of the 2000 Tigers team which won the Bogan Cup on the ground for the Old boys’ lunch, and a special ceremony before the first-grade fixture against Bathurst St Pats where the current Nyngan players were presented with replica 2000 jerseys.
These jerseys were later auctioned by club stalwart Rodney Robb at the Nyngan RSL Club as a fundraiser for the Tigers.
Master of ceremonies for the occasion, Jamie Barrow, interviewed some of the 1966 players for their memories of the historic win.
Nugget Carter remembered the day clearly and has kept it as one of his favourite memories.
