One of Nyngan’s best primary school swimmers has continued to perform well since moving to Bathurst this year for high school.
Thomas Holmes participated in the 2026 NSW Country Championships at Sydney Olympic Park on February 20-22.
Thomas has completed most of his swimming training under Nyngan-based Jenny Griffiths and her daughter Maddie.
It was his first country championships since moving to the Bathurst Swimming Academy, and despite recent illness he performed well, gaining some finalist placings as well as improved qualification times for the upcoming NSW Youth State Age championships, to be held on 21-22 March.
