Sunday, April 27 - 18-hole Individual Stableford

This event was interrupted by a few showers, but it certainly didn’t deter Tyler Martin who scored a very nice 38 points, in at times less than ideal conditions.

Tyler has been very consistent of late and has been hitting the ball nicely, from all reports he’s been equally consistent off the course too, and has managed to pick up the points on a few occasions around town.

Runner-up (and talking of consistent golfers) was Ashton Deebank only one point adrift with 37 points. Blake Stein finished third with 36 points. Deb Matheson was fourth with 30 points.

Nearest the pins went to Mike Oliver (second), Jocelyn King (fourth), Chris Dennis (14th), David Martin (16th in two shots) and Mandy Martin (17th).

Saturday, May 3 - 18-hole Individual Par

Although a little light on for numbers (every man and his dog was over watching the mighty Tigers dominate at Larkin Oval), Ashton Deebank continued his good form by finishing with a square round in the day’s par event.

Ashton has lost quite a number of shots off his handicap, having more than halved his handicap in the last few months, however still continues to play to his new handicap or below it each game, and is now off an amazing 12. Well done Ashton!

Ashton didn’t have it all his own way, with him and his playing partner Robert Read tied coming to the 18th, rob had to settle for an ill-timed washout and in doing so picked up second place. Brett Rope was third with Graham Tomek in fourth place. Nearest the pins went were shared between Robert Read (second and fourth) and Graham Tomek (sixth and 13th).

Sunday, May 4 - Monthly Medal

It doesn’t happen often, but due to a very busy may on our golfing calendar we played our monthly medal on a Sunday, as basically all other dates for the month were booked out…a good problem to have. this month’s medal round belonged to the girls, with Jodie Stewart surviving a countback from Lisa Herbert, both finishing with 39 well-made points.

Third place went to Timmy Lewis with 38 points, after a very good round of 70 or two over off the bat. Wayne Arandale picked up fourth place with 35 points, and fifth place went to young Ethan Beuziville with 34 points (on countback).

Plenty of nearest the pins out there on all par threes (other clubs please take note), Chook Hawley played a nice one to the second to set up birdie, Chook also won the nearest in two shots on the eighth, Timmy Lewis also got himself a double on the fourth and 14th, and picked up two birdies in the process.

Cameron Bourke was nearest on the ninth, Dee Stephens played a terrific shot to the 12th, while Ethan Beuziville grabbed the last pin on the 17th.

Nearest the pins went to Adrian Hawley (second and eighth in two shots), Timmy Lewis (fourth and 14th), Cameron Bourke (ninth), Dee Stephens (12th), Ethan Beuziville (17th).

Dunedoo Open a lot of fun

We also had six golfers (I use that term very loosely) head over to Dunedoo recently for their open tournament. Everyone had a great day out, golf probably not so good. Thanks to Dunedoo Sports Club and the committee for a well-run tournament and a fantastic course.
