Some of the photographs date back to the late 1800s and early 1900s, when the fledgeling Nyngan township was a railway terminus.

There are also many images from the past century, right up to the present.

The wall is part of the NSW Government funded Tourism Improvement Project and lines a pedestrian path from the carpark in front of the Museum and helicopter to Davidson Park.

It has the double role of screening off the rear of two commercial premises and providing visual interest to visitors.

Bogan Shire Director of Engineering Services, Graeme Bourke, worked with the Nyngan Museum Committee and members of the community to collect the images and design the mural.

Other works in this area include a newly constructed pathway to facilitate foot traffic between these areas and the tiered sandstone seating completed last year.
