It’s Duck Creek Week!
With the biggest party in the Bogan shire happening this Saturday, the organisers of the Duck Creek Picnic Races have kicked off early with “Duck Creek Week”.

Nyngan’s main street was a sea of blue and yellow on Monday morning and local shoppers were urged to look around for rubber duckies for their chance to win daily prizes.
The Big Bogan and his offsider Rusty were festooned with streamers and races mascot Plucka Duck was out and about.
Races president Rowen Cleaver said the committee was expecting around 5000 people for this year’s races.
Mr Cleaver said “Duck Creek Week” was one of several new initiatives the committee had put in place this year in order to set the vibe. “It’s a great way to get into the Duck Creek spirit,” Mr Cleaver said. “The committee has been working hard to ensure this weekend is a fun and safe one for locals and visitors. The races are a terrific event for our community and have really helped put Nyngan on the map,” he said.
The headline band for the post race concert this year will again be Furnace and the Fundamentals, and racegoers should listen out for their special rendition of “Sweet Caroline” and “The Horses”. This year the races will include a slightly bigger Duck Pond Luncheon, with 800 tickets sold. There will also be a larger bar area, and streamlined drink ticket sales. Following the races Mr Cleaver said the committee will allocate donations to charitable causes.
