Harry and his Clydesdales visit Nyngan for charity
Henry and George the Clydesdale horses, Wa the dog and their owner Harry Vidal were delighted to meet the children at Nyngan Preschool on Tuesday, July 22, as they passed through town.

There was great excitement as the horses and their purpose built caravan pulled up outside the preschool fence for a spot of grassy morning tea, which the children offered them from a large bucket.
Adelaide-based Harry was on his way from Balranald to Lightning Ridge, travelling the backroads at around 20 kilometres a day for three months.
The purpose of the 1100km trip is to raise funds for Craniofacial Australia, a not-for-profit organisation providing essential support, outreach and research funding for those navigating life with craniofacial conditions. Now six weeks into his three-month trek, Harry has already raised over $9000 for the organisation. This is Harry’s 10th annual fundraising trek and his third in support of Craniofacial Australia.
This year’s mission is particularly personal: in March 2025, Harry underwent craniofacial surgery for a benign tumour, gaining firsthand insight into the challenges faced by young patients.
“This experience gave me a new perspective on what babies and young children go through when they have craniofacial surgeries.
“The biggest difference? I could communicate how I was feeling - they can’t. That really hit home for me,” he said.
Harry is aiming to raise $20,000 on this trip, which he said would fund financial assistance and care packs for families in need; and well as research into the prevention, treatment, and management of craniofacial conditions; and education for medical professionals in the craniofacial field.
