Nyngan golfers Greg Matheson and Annette Webster have won the Keno Mixed Ambrose Regional Final in Gunnedah on Sunday, November 2 with an impressive score of 61.5 nett (8.5 shots under handicap).

The pair shot 73 off the stick, with 11.5 strokes reduced factoring in their handicaps.

Greg and Annette won on countback from Longyard GC (Tamworth) pair Mark and Aleah Haestier, who were officially second (61.5, -8.5) with the same nett score as the Nyngan duo. Karen Poulter and Gavan Seaman (Tooraweenah Golf Club, 65, -5) finished third.

The Nyngan duo’s victory secures a place in the state final at Bonville Golf Club later this year - a fantastic achievement for both players.

The 2025 KENO Let’s Play Ambrose Regional Finals featured 12 venues spread across New South Wales.

Regional finals in men’s, women’s and mixed categories were held at Corowa, Port Kembla, Gunnedah, Forster Tuncurry, Muirfield, Merewether, Queanbeyan, Cabramatta, Dubbo, Pambula-Merimbula, Yamba and Forbes.

Regional winners crowned, all roads now lead to Coffs Harbour.

Twilight golf continues as Shooting Birdies take out round four

Meanwhile, another sensational week of Twilight Golf has wrapped up, with more than 90 players taking to the fairways once again.

Scoring continues to impress, as demonstrated with round four weekly winners Shooting Birdies needing 48 points to take out last week’s action. Well done to Shooting Birdies team members: Hayden Watt, John Tyson, Jordan Lane, and Elijah Bush.

Round four winners included:

Bel-Air Bashers, Rycon “Fairway to Heaven”, Off in the Woods, Shooting Birdies, The Nyngan, Hack-Attack, Vanes Buses, Jeremy Whaley Constructions, Daniel Martin Plumbing, and Neill Earthmoving.

The top 10 ladder after round four is as follows:

Foodworks – seven points.

Jeremy Whaley Constructions – six points.

Neill Earthmoving – six points.

Crack-N-Plumbers – five points.

Bel-Air Bashers – five points.

Daniel Martin Plumbing – five points.

Rycon “Fairway to Heaven” – five points.

Lister’s Lunatics – five points.

Shooting Birdies – five points.
