Commonly referred to as the “Randwick of the West”, the elegant Marquee Luncheon will see the grassed hilltop of the Warren racetrack jam-packed for a thrilling afternoon.

Warren Jockey Club president Paul Smith said he is thrilled to see this premier Macquarie Valley event return in 2025, bigger and better.

“With cotton remaining one of the most significant industries in our region, it’s only fitting that the Cotton Cup event continues to celebrate and support the local cotton community.

“But the Marquee Luncheon is for everyone to enjoy, not just those connected to cotton,” Mr Smith said.

“We’re as passionate as ever about building racing in Warren and building on its reputation as the Randwick of the West.

“It’s a renowned country racetrack for trainers and jockeys, and this year, we’re bringing even more Royal Randwick and Flemington flair for punters and guests.

“Our signature Cotton Cup Marquee Luncheon, inspired by the Melbourne Cup Birdcage, promises another unforgettable day of elegance, excitement and top-notch entertainment.

“Some of the region’s finest thoroughbreds will be competing for more than $250,000 in prize money, making it a true highlight on the racing calendar,” Mr Smith added.

For just $140, guests will enjoy an all-inclusive experience designed to showcase the very best of country hospitality and festive racing atmosphere, with sit down lunch from renowned chefs Eat Your Greens, drinks all afternoon from a private bar, live music from Dubbo’s Cameron Sharp, goodies bags and an incredible line-up of prizes up for grabs in best dressed.

The ever-popular Josephine’s Drinks cocktail bar is also bag again, serving a delectable array of handcrafted spring cocktails.

A coach will also be running, with Marquee Luncheon guests offered free return transport from Dubbo, Narromine, Trangie, Nevertire, and Warren.

“If there is interest from other towns throughout the region, the Warren Jockey Club is also keen to support, so get a group together and get in touch,” added Mr Smith.

“Fashion and style are always an important part of any race day, and this year we are amping up our ‘best dressed’ competition thanks to some incredibly generous sponsors. We have prizes up for grabs from renowned rural fashion brand Peter Bill, Blowes Menswear, local designer By Banks, Brown Brother’s Winery and Queensland Cotton, in categories including Best Dressed Lady, Gent, Couple and Best Millinery,” said Mr Smith.

“As well as our fashion sponsors, I also wanted to acknowledge our race day sponsors, including the Commonwealth Bank regional and agribusiness team, Nutrien Ag Solutions Red Hill, Elders Warren, Macquarie Toyota, Ecom Commodities, Warren Services Club, RebelAg, Wincott, and Kiss Ag Consulting for their ongoing support of racing in Warren,” concluded Mr Smith.
