The Bogan Bulls held its annual Sponsors Day, where those who have given to the club were invited to enjoy drinks and canapes on Larkin Oval and watch Nyngan play Warren.
More than 200 people from both towns enjoyed the warm day, and two competitive games of rugby.
This year the Bogan Bulls held a sheep drive fundraiser and many local producers donated to the truckload which was sold through Dubbo saleyards.
Other sponsors have made financial donations which were much appreciated by the club executive and players.
Club captains Brendan Nelson and Molly Smith both acknowledged the support already received this season.
“Bush footy just can’t operate without sponsors,” Nelson said.
“This year we did a sheep drive and I think we had over 100 people come and help with that and also donate sheep and it has really helped the club. As you can see from the clubhouse and the work that’s been done, those funds have made a real difference.”
Nelson also thanked foundation members Bomber Moxham and Barry Beach, in whose honour the Moxham-Beach Trophy for the annual Warren-Nyngan clash, was named.
“Nyngan and Warren are very lucky to have people like that to start these clubs and to continue to support them for many years.”
